5 Tips for Density + Volume
While I may never be able to fit my curly hair into a ponytail holder, I wouldn't exchange the volume and density of my fro for anything. Volume is state dependent and can change with the weather or style. Density is the amount and thickness of your individual hair strands. If you follow these 5 tips, you should see improvements in both areas!
Add a Supplement
There are many supplements and vitamins for hair growth, but I am trying out KeraHealth who is sponsoring this post. This supplement contains two really powerful ingredients; KerCysteine and SOD. Keratin is what makes up your hair, skin and nails but it's completely insoluble which means your body cannot digest it. So KeraHealth has this KerCysteine formula that binds Keratin to Cysteine, an amino acid, so that your body can ingest it.. Their formula for women also includes the SOD enzyme which is naturally present in your body and acts as an antioxidant. Derived from cantalopes, SOD helps forms a protective barrier around your cell membrane so it won't start to break down.
I use the KeraHealth supplement twice a day, that I take with meals to improve digestion. I have a one month supply since each bottle contains 60 capsules. The ingredients in KeraHealth are naturally sourced from France and the KeraHealth supplements are manufactured in the US in FDA approved facilities and retail at $59.99 plus tax, they ship in the U.S. and Canada.
I've only had two washes since I started taking the supplement, but I have noticed less shedding.

I didn't expect this to happen, but my nails are so much stronger! I got a gel manicure and normally I have to cut my nails afterwards because they are so weak. When I took them off my nails were so thick like I didn't just soak them in pure acetone.
Do a Scalp Oil Massage
I massage my scalp to help boost circulation in the areas that have suffered breakage. The ingredients in the oil also help to nourish the follicle itself leading to healthier hair. I try to use oils and herbs that are light and have anti fungal properties like tea tree oil and jojoba oil. These clarifying oils help remove product buildup to prevent clogged pores. Here is the mix that I am currently using:
- Castor Oil
- Tea Tree oil
- Vitamin C
